| Nov 23, 2005 - In a news article written by Julie Young: Vicki Hendley, a 1991 Scecina graduate offered an early holiday present for more than 350 students, graduates, family and friends when she treated everyone to a performance on Nov. 23 in Scecina's gymnasium. In addition, Hendley was accompanied by Scecina's own guitar group and backed up on vocals by the school's Mass Choir. Hendley's performance included a rendition of "Little by Little" which was featured on her CD produced by her former group, the Gorilla Dance Band. Currently, Hendley is in pre-production for her first solo CD which she hopes will be in stores by mid-2006. "I have waited for this for a long time," said choir member Tyler Key, noting that he has become a big fan of Hendley's since hearing her sing. "She's my idol." "It was great getting to sing with her finally," said junior Chris Young who has been familiar with Hendley's work for a long time. Hendley said that she wasn't sure what to expect in terms of the performance, but was impressed with the skills shown by the student groups. "It was great to be able to come home," she said. Vicki was invited back to the KPRC/Channel 2 Studios to make a special appearance on this year's
Gimme The Mike, Houston! for a contestant follow up!
She was asked to promote her debut album while being interviewed by Local 2 News Anchor, Dominique Sachse.
The album is scheduled to be released mid 2006. The show she appeared on aired Wednesday, Aug 31st, 7pm.

Her first release, "Hell Bound Blue" was played for all of Majic's radio audience in Houston, TX (about 500,000 listeners) to hear! MANY THANKS TO KMJQ - FM PROGRAM DIRECTOR, SEMETRICA "SAM" CHOICE, for the invitation! Please listen to 102.1 FM for the song to be played...Calling in to the station to make this request always helps! VICKI WAS OPENING ACT FOR NATIONAL RECORDING ARTISTS, DONELL JONES (www.donell-jones.com) and URBAN MYSTIC at Houston's local hot spot, Plaza 59! There were about 500 in attendance to hear her perform her debut single,"Hell Bound Blue" and "Seeking Wrong" (these songs have received radio and television air play). |
| JAN 26, 2006 - VICKI WINS 1st PLACE AT THE 2006 TASTE OF THE TOWN SINGING COMPETITION! This annual event was held at the Marriott Waterway in The Woodlands, TX and sponsored in part by AAA Travel and The Woodlands Chamber of Commerce. She sang an original song titled, "Seeking Wrong" and competed against 14 others (who, along with Vicki, had all previously won in preliminary rounds to compete again) in front of 3,000+ spectators!
